Hey there, let me introduce myself.

My name is Callahan Bevilacqua (aka EXPVNSE)an Orlando-based game audio designer. I've worked across multiple audio disciplines for half a decade, including live audio and music composition. My experience in the audio world and my passion for video games has lead me to pursuing this path with

everything I have.

A bit of my story.

I've been enamored by the world of game development since I was a kid - first attempting to teach myself to make games in GameMaker Studio when I was 12. I was eager to work on games like the ones I loved, but as life moved on, I began to think that I would never reach that goal.

It was during the last leg of my Bachelor's Degree in Music Production that I was exposed to the world of game audio. It was then I realized working in the game industry wasn't a far-off dream, but a viable career path. Driven by that lightbulb moment, I threw myself in the deep end of game audio, determined to gain as much experience as I could while still in school. Over the course of 4 months, I worked on the music and sound design for multiple student games, engaged in sound design challenges, and worked on multiple game jams alongside my rigorous class schedule. Using these experiences I was able to build my first demo reel and get an internship at the small indie studio, Digital Scorpion Interactive, as an audio designer after I graduated from Full Sail University in May of 2023.

I became Digital Scorpion Interactive's Audio Design Lead after 3 months of working there, leading the charge as we began development of our new mobile game. I was also largely responsible for hiring and training new audio team members, from reviewing resumes and audio tests to interviewing and onboarding. It taught me a lot about the recruitment process, for which I have an immense respect. Since then, my contract has ended, but I continue to be an integral part of my team. I operate as a mentor for our team, providing advice and feedback on assets and working to maintain the game's creative vision.

Recently, I've also become the
Audio Director for indie start up Bitter Sails Games. We're working on some exciting new projects that I can't wait to share updates on! The first of which is a beginner-focused game jam to help build our community and support upcoming developers in the new year!

I can't wait to see what the future holds and the kinds of projects I'll get to be apart of.
